In 2013, Marta Zgierska survived a serious car accident and went through several months of intense hardship (surgery, rehabilitation, depression,…).
The traumatic event completely redefined her photographic work and gave birth to the series“Post“. In seeking to embody her trauma through photography, Marta Zgierska practices it as a self-writing. She symbolically puts her fears at a distance by freezing them in a form of purity, and producing fragile images. Each photograph depicts part of its story metaphorically, suggesting it by the ellipse in a clinical aesthetic. Icy, almost silent images that form the rebus of a conversation reduced to the essential, the visual articulation of a minimal language of survival.
