In the series “Afterbeauty“, beauty masks are floating on an are of flat color, like totems. They are the result of a superimposing of cosmetic layers, which make them think and supple. This accumulation of products becomes almost harmful of the epidermis, asphyxiating. This pressure practiced on the skin echoes the one of beauty experienced by us in private and professional lives, like a irrational quest of an unattainable beauty. Once it has been taken off, the mask creates an imprint of ourselves and underlines the ephemeral of beauty and existence itself. The fact that is disposable also makes us think of the waste engendered by the cosmetic industry in our consumption society.
